Nintendo has announced yet another keep fit focused game, this time for the DS, fronted by none other than Britain's favourite ex-gameshow host and all-round brainbox Carol Vorderman.
Active Health with Carol Vorderman includes a pedometer and will also feature Wii Fit synchronisation when it releases in August.
The 'game' will feature a combination of healthy eating and exercise tips tailored for today's "busy lifestyles" and "inputting your personal details into the software allows Carol to calculate your BMI and provide you with a personalised programme outlining how many calories you need to consume and how much exercise you should do to maintain or lose weight."
Motivational guidance
Carol pops up now and then as your "motivational guide... helping you to achieve your personal goal whether it is to lose weight, boost energy levels, improve your fitness or all three combined!"
There are 70 inbuilt recipes, a shopping list facility and "a variety of sample meal plans for the entire day, providing inspiration on how to eat healthy, varied dishes while sticking within your recommended daily calorie intake."
The pedometer or, as Nintendo is calling it, the "Activity Meter" is just dropped you're your pocket and monitors your activity levels through the day.
One click of the button on the pedometer will send over your personal daily activity data to your DS by infrared signal and "you can even sync Active Health with your Wii Fit to keep track of additional exercises completed on the Wii."
Active Health with Carol Vorderman launches across the UK on 7 August 2009.

Coronation Street becomes Nomination Street today as Carol Vorderman launches the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards 2009, sponsored by the UK’s largest mutual retailer, The Co-operative.
Vorderman joins a host of stars on the cobbles of the nation’s most famous street to urge people to nominate unsung heroes for the Pride of Britain.
Now in its 11th year, it is the biggest event of its kind in the UK and one of the highest-rated awards shows on British television.
The Prince of Wales calls the Pride of Britain a “truly humbling and marvellous way to celebrate the achievements of extraordinary people” and Prime Minister Gordon Brown says it is “an institution which is now part of the national calendar”.
The former Countdown star said: “What makes Pride of Britain so special is that the winners are people who really deserve recognition.”
Every year, many of the nation’s biggest stars from the worlds of showbusiness, sport and politics honour the heroic winners. Among many A-listers who have taken part have been David and Victoria Beckham, Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Helen Mirren, Bono, Sir Michael Caine, J K Rowling, Kylie Minogue, Kevin Spacey, Sir Richard Branson, Take That, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas.
Vorderman is inviting the public to nominate their unsung heroes by August 8. Winners, selected by a panel of distinguished judges, will be honoured at the glittering awards dinner in London in October. It will again be screened as a primetime special on ITV1.
This year’s ceremony will again include The Co-operative Local Champion Award to recognise people who have made a positive difference to their community.
The Co-operative is the UK’s fifth largest food retailer as well as the largest independent travel retailer, and will be promoting The Pride of Britain Awards across its family of businesses, which also includes pharmacy, funerals, motors and financial services.
The public can nominate their unsung heroes by filling in nomination forms and posting them in post boxes in store or online by visiting www.prideofbritain.com. Categories also include recognising courageous children and adults and members of the emergency services and armed forces for acts of bravery, lifetime achievement, charity fundraiser of the year and teacher of the year.
Vorderman, who has hosted the awards since its first ceremony 11 years ago, said: “I’ve been honoured to be a part of Pride of Britain since day one. Every year I’m humbled by the nominees’ incredible stories, and to see the famous faces that come to recognise their incredible achievements.
“I’m sure that this year, with The Co-operative inviting nominations in more stores than ever, we will be introduced to some truly remarkable individuals.”
