Renishaw supports new engineering and physics library at Cardiff University

Renishaw, one of the world’s leading engineering technology companies, recently attended the official opening of Cardiff University’s newly redesigned Trevithick Library performed by television personality and Honorary Fellow, Carol Vorderman (pictured right with sponsors). The new state-of-the art learning facility includes the ‘Renishaw Room’, a group study facility that was made possible through a five-year sponsorship agreement signed last year between Renishaw and the University.

Ratings for Channel 4 show Countdown have halved since Carol Vorderman left.

The presenter, who was brought up in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, left the show at the end of last year after bosses wanted her to take a huge pay cut. After contract negotiations fell apart, the maths expert was replaced by Oxford mathematics graduate Rachel Riley.

But since Carol left, the show’s popularity appears to have plummeted.

TV star Carol Vorderman has become the latest victim of the credit crunch after a property company she fronted was forced to start winding down.

The former Countdown presenter and her agent attended a crisis meeting with executives at Carol Vorderman Overseas Homes last week, telling them they were no longer willing to have her name and face associated with the firm.

Ms Vorderman had raised her concerns that the company could not guarantee future customers that their properties would be completed by developers.
